Signers of the Declaration of Independence: New York

Delegates to the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Four of the 56 delegates who signed the formal break from Britain — William Floyd, Francis Lewis, Philip Livingston and Lewis Morris — represented New York.
