Re: Graduated

Sorry about that short SITREP.

I came into basic weak and out of shape. I couldn't run for shit, my pushups were lame, and I was just generally sucking all the time. Just sucked it up like I told myself I would and kept going, and it all got easier. It was over before I knew it and I found myself ...

Graduated

Not too much to say here besides I was a lazy fuck before basic but I managed to suck it up and make it through RIP. Just trying to continue to push myself because I've already found out it doesn't get any easier.

What can I say besides thank you to everyone who takes the time to provide ...

Getting ahead of the game

Rangers, I'm half way through AIT down in Fort Sam right now. The past several weeks have been boring and tedious (death by powerpoint) but I'm proud to say I earned my EMT-B certification. I haven't really had a hard time with any of the classwork so far, but I want to be ahead of the game when ...

Thank you Rangers and SFC Hit_it.

I'll be going to the Syracuse, NY MEPS Wednesday night and shipping out to Fort Leonard Wood the following day. All I can say is I'm ready to step up to the plate.

My family threw an amazing going away party for me yesterday. Friends and relatives I hadn't seen in ...

An update before I ship out

I have only a handful of posts on these forums but I'd like to post an update on where I stand. Without sounding like too much of a kiss ass I feel as though I owe a huge thank you to all of the Rangers and other helpful members of these forums. I have yet to even ship out but without stumbling ...

A little PT inspiration

Rangers,

I haven't posted much in the year I've been reading these forums. I have always believed that when faced with an opportunity to learn something it's better to keep your mouth shut and listen.

However, the other day I read something in a magazine and instantly felt as though I should post ...

Thank you Rangers and Coppherhead.

Ranger rgrking, there was one girl shipping out to Jackson to be a truck driver. How the hell she'll be able to even reach the pedals is beyond me, but I performed my duties and proceeded to hit on her.

Ranger 42L5V, I will take whatever I can get to be prepared ...

I got it.

Rangers,

The title says it all, I entered the DEP today with a 68W Option 40 contract.

I stayed in the hotel up in Syracuse, NY last night and took care of my physical along with the rest of my paperwork today. My recruiter already had my contract reserved for me so all I needed to do was confirm ...

HELL YES, one step closer. I just walked out of my recruiters office with a reservation for a 68w/Option 40 contract. I am going up to the Syracuse, NY MEPS Monday night and getting my physical done Tuesday.

I'll be heading to Fort Leanord Wood 20080717 which provides a lot of time to really kick ...

Quick update:

I brought in some paperwork today and I'm meeting back up with my recruiter Thursday to get a contract ready for my Tuesday trip to MEPS. He said it recently changed and it's much easier to pull a contract ahead of time so that all I need to do is the physical part.

68w/Option 40 or ...

Thanks for the welcome Rangers and DEP Moderator (sorry, did I get that one right?).

If I've learned anything at all from these forums it's to absolutely, positively, get it in writing. Already the recruiter called me asking me if I would consider 18D if there were no 68W/Option 40 slots open ...

Rangers,

I know I've already posted an introduction but a lot has changed since March and I'm finally making some progress.

As of now I'm 20 years old, working on the sales floor of Sears, and still enrolled in college.

As for the family issues, I've come to terms with everything and don't feel ...

Thank you for the advice Ranger Fishboy and SFC hit_it.

My recruiter was trying to get me to actually enlist this weekend rather than DEP in.

He told me the DEP was only for high school kids and again, I've learned from this site and others that anyone can join the DEP.

This guy is pressuring me ...

First visit with recruiter

SFC hit_it and Rangers,

I had my first visit with my local recruiter Tuesday morning. I took a practice ASVAB on which I scored a 68 and talked to him for a little bit about my reasons for wanting to enlist and my background.

He came to my house Wednesday morning and told me he understood I had ...
