Not sure how to answer this than to say read all the posts on the subject.

It happens for prior service, but very rarely. Got to MEPS and see what happens.

I work at OCS and have had quite a number of prior service in situations similar to yours come through the course. None of them talked of any difficulty getting into OCS. The biggest difference is in the selection of your branch. Putting in your packet while still on active duty gets you a better shot at getting the branch you want because you'll pick it before you come to OCS. However, going straight from MEPs to basic (maybe) to OCS will put you in competition with the rest of the OC's for what branch you will get. It's OML based, which they just started a few months ago.

Best thing to do to get the answers you want is to start talking to a recruiter in your area. That way you can bullshit check the answers you get with people here. I figured I'd just let you know it's been done.

Time to make a choice. Go to Regiment as a hooah, or go to OCS and become an officer.

I wish you luck bro.

If you have time, can you share a little bit about adventure racing?

I have read the posts, but was unclear why the &*^ they would not give a prior service guy a shot at rip.
It used to not be an enlistment option open to prior service.

Let us know what happens.

OML = Order Of Merit List.

Your rank is dependant on your PT score and certian test scores done in the first 4 to 6 weeks of the course.
