Ranger School Class 05-08

Post by Mottsauce »

Well I graduated today from class 05-08. After an extended stay in Darby I finally finished! It was a beautiful day out at Victory Pond and my Dad came down from California for the ceremony. After the Ceremony we went to 4 Winds and I ate a Ranger burger with fries and sweet tea in about 5 minutes.

Mountains was the worst and Florida was my favorite. They've added Kiowa, Spectre, and Chinook support to Florida, so it's pretty awesome to use those assets on your patrols (we didn't get to use AC-130s but some did).

I'm still pretty sleepy and hungry, but I'm really happy to have finally earned my tab.

Pictures to follow in the next few days.

Any questions from the guys about to go?

Hey congratulations. Did you do the Chinooks on the last two air assault patrols in Florida?

Sometimes they gave us one look, sometimes they gave us 4 (like the dude in Florida who got his 4th patrol, of Florida, and his go the last day).

That was one of the dudes who got 3 previous No-Go's in the Fla but with one go was deemed tabable......................i just made that word up, fuck am good!

The crowd on hand to see the grad with pushed all the way down to the base of the tower.

Fella's it is truly only about #'s these days. Not to say that Mottsauce ain't a bad mutherfocker though.

His class was in RAP week when I was graduating. They started with something like 400+ Ranger students and ended it with around 300.

Congrats Mott. Pretty cool your Dad was able to share in that event. One of my favorite memories is doing beer tasting shots with my Pops in the Cannon Pub after graduation.

A 2LT with a tab is truly a dangerous thing to behold. 8)
