Re: A question for the recruiters
There is an in-service waiver for this when hearing loss is combat related. Not sure if there is one for coming in off the street.

1) Yes it has a time limit. You are not getting messed around. 2) As long as your physical is good you will need to do a re-inspect (brief med scheck) and provided the waiver is still good, go down and wait to reserve a job. 3) There is a chance you can be put on the hard line if one or more of your...

Re: SITREP - Tucker
Alright here's your follow up answer. NO. RC Soldiers attending WTC RTAC will be mobed and sent TDY from their unit. They must be in the grade of SPC and above (except to this is the 75th Ranger Regiment and RTB). Any exception must be approved by waiver from the CDR, WTC. Company Commanders must su...

Re: SITREP - Tucker
I was at Benning today and was able to speak briefly to someone about your issue. They stated that the knew of no situation in which a initial training Soldier could attend Pre-Ranger while in IET status, even at the NG's WTC. Still working on a 100% answer, but if I were you I would start thinking ...

I am very sure that all recruiting stations now have the ability to check job vacancies and make reservations to hold until you go and complete the process to enlist. However, this has to be done AFTER you take the ASVAB. I don't like that they did not explain it to you, but I don't think you need t...

As you said, B2G is having a hard time even getting through the process. If I were you, I would not be so locked into "I want this or that". You should have looked closer when chossing your service initially. Can't promise you 18X will be taking prior service in the near future, so you mig...

Re: SITREP - Tucker
Cayo is talking about having gotten an Option 40, which is possible during training if you did not originally enlist with one. ACTIVE DUTY ONLY. You are trying to find a way to go to Ranger school while attending initial entry training. Two totally different things, combined with the fact you are al...

I enlisted with the National Guard last month, obtaining a contract that puts me in Ft. Benning for 11B OSUT and Airborne. I ship 20110726. I was administered an APFT this past weekend for drill at the RSP (Recruit Sustainment Program) and did well. I have shin splints and will be resting for 2 wee...

Re: SITREP - MindMelter (11X)
Sucks for you and I still don't know why med waiver don't get any options like 4 or 40. It is true that it doesn't matter once you are in training, but it's a little less likely someone will come around handing out option 40's. You will most definately be offered ABN though, so make sure you are the...

Re: 11x
damn MEPS doctors are assholes sometimes. Could someone please explain to me why you can't go to airborne school to jump out of an airplane at 1200 feet, but it is perfectly ok for you to fly down to basic, afghanistan or wherever traveling at 37000 feet? I had a kid last week lose his 18x contract...
