If it's a criminal record and you take any job that requires a security clearance of any kind then I'd bet there's a good chance of something showing up. If it's something medical I don't know. They can't just willy-nilly go take records from anyone they please for no reason, but there's a thousand ...

Question about OSUT batt. assignments

I was looking through the Benning website and noticed that all of the classes are assigned a certain Batallion/Infantry. Does anyone know if which OSUT Batt./Infantry brigade you enter OSUT under has any affect on which direction your 11X goes? Or is it just random/based on the Army's needs when you...

Training requests at enlistment time?

I've read around here and really the only thing anyone talks about is making sure to request Airborne and Ranger when you go to enlist, but I was curious if any other training can be requested at enlistment. Obviously some things are clearly specialty training for the experienced soldier(like Sniper...

HOOAH! Just took my ASVAB this afternoon and end result = GT 129. The recruiter was practically as happy as I was; said I helped myself a whole lot with that score. All I have to do now is keep up those same kind of results and, before I know it, I'll be back here as one of you guys! I go to MEPS fo...

In response to Nyte(the pre-ban version at least hehe). Hoepfully out of spite you'll come back to read this thread and catch my response. First, in regards to my desire to gain a solid foundation by serving as a Ranger first, I don't feel it has any negative connotation on my desire as a future sol...

Well, as I've read here in multiple threads, many Rangers do go on to join SF. I've also read how difficult both the Ranger and SF paths are. I would much rather prefer to get years of experience with a Ranger unit and give myself a strong foundation in military life and tactics before going for SF(...

Seeking advice

Let me begin by stating that my dilemna is my age; whenever I decide for my ship date to be, I will be 26(I'm thinking I'll enter DEP and request ship date of Jan '05 since I don't want to start OSUT and then have to break for xmas in the middle of training). I want the Option 40, like all other new...

Introduction

Hi, Jon from Memphis, TN here. I just started the process of getting myself enlisted and, as part of my research process, I found this site. Lots of good information and advice for those who want to listen. With motivation and a little luck I will hopefully be able to come back here in another year ...
