As I understand, separate from the vision test in the medical part of MEPS, the Army assesses your prescription upon arrival of Basic Training. For me, my vision is very poor, -8.25 in one eye and -7.5 in the ...

signed my DEP contract

Hello everyone, well, I originally wanted an 18x contract, but when I got to MEPS the counselor pointed out that a requirement for 18x is 20/20 vision (not correctable to 20/20, but needs to be 20/20)... I believed him since that was actually written on the 18x job sheet under Remarks (I think is ...

Thank you, Ranger Tater Nuts. I have also searched the forums for the answer to another question but have not found an answer... Is it possible to get an Option 40 on an 18x contract? If so, would that mean if I fail the SF assesment, I would get sent to RIP instead of the 82nd?

or should I have ...

Well, Ranger Matador275, I am joining the Army to serve my country. Ever since I was a kid I have dreamed of being in Special Forces; to be in the company of such high-caliber men would be an honor in itself... Earlier this year I was in better shape, I was running 6 miles every other day and ...

civilian introduction

Hi, my name is Aaron. I am in my 4th year at a university and will graduate in June (if life goes on as planned). I am joining the Army, I have a 18x reservation and I'm going to MEPS on Monday (tomorrow, actually) to confirm that. I'll be shipping out after I graduate.

Thanks
