What a shithole! We were there for only 2 days and everyone had chigger bites. We jumped in a siezed a airfield for the 25th ID to airland on. It was a call in in the middle of the night, fly to Arkansas, jump and go home deals. It still sucked though. I wasn't too fond of Arkansas.

Worst jump of my life, did JRTC there just before Thanksgiving in 1991. It was cold, and rained the entire time. Anf the hills get a little old after awhile.

Bring plenty of Chigg away......Did JRTC there in '92. Platoon mate Garcia broke his femur in half jumping in, burned in from 200 feet after losing a dueling canopy fight......leg medics on DZ locate him by the screaming and come over to him...some PFC..."Where are you hurt man?"....Garcia, "AAAAAGGGGHHHHH...Its...AAAGGHH....Specialist...AAAAGGGHH....Motherfucker!!!!"

Almost got RFS'ed there.....I was a pfc AG, told a SF Captain (evaluator) to "get the fuck outta here!" when he was chewing me out. (He happened to be wrong plus stuck his face about a foot over the M60 receiver when we had a hot round on a jammed gun and were about to lift the cover)....got out of it because at the end of the movement to contact there he was locked up getting an earful from the BC about how he was a fuckstick of an officer.

Lastly, got to leave a day early as I was going to Pre-Ranger a week later......missed the tornado that came through and destroyed the circus tent barracks and tossed Rangers and gear all over the place.....

I don't know what the fuck these guys are bitching about. I thought the place was great. JRTC was pretty good...so good they moved it to Polk which is another PRIME place. Every woman I met had a cleft pallet if not a cleft face. They dont talk much, just kinda grunt. Had to chase hunters out of the Range cone's of fire. They figured with us shooting all the critters would start moving and they could kill "breffast". Shot a deer on the 60 range...had a Camp fire and Deer B Que that night. Some locals came and asked us "aint dat der da deer weun's kilt"?

We stayed in a circus tent barracks at Hunter while waiting for the Haiti thing. It probably was a old circus tent that some dumbass bought for the Regiment.
