My Intro

Post by k5 »

Hi, My name is Andrew and I'm 17. I am a senior in high school. I work at at a restaraunt and do some welding on the side. I recently enlisted and was lucky enough to recieve an 11x option 40 contract, with airborne bonus and 66 grand for college. my father was retired SF and warned against the 18x contract, said I was too young for group. he said sf " babies" have an extremely high attriton rate. I heeded his advice took the next best path. I look foward to your advice and hope to soon serve with many of you. Thanks again, and hooah!
p.s. anyone got a ship date of 20050804?

Welcome to the site. Your father is a wise man.

With very little effort you can find the answer to that last question real easy if ya look.

'Next best path', eh? FUCK YOU. You'd better get something straight: it's a different job, different mission. You fuck around and say some stupid shit on here again and you're toast. Like using the word "Hooah" again.

I'll burn you at the fucking stake. This is you're only warning. Now fill out your profile....completely. Or did you somehow feel that doing the bare minimum was 'the next best path' also?

Salt the nutcrusher has found a new friend. Hey kid....I think you are a retard too. I can't believe that you stepped up to our campfire...and basically said that you settled for Rangers.

There is an attrition rate on this site too.
I was in 2/75 from 97 to 00. 5-99

Other people were fine and you liked them and were good friends; but you only felt true tenderness and love for those who had been there and had received the castigation that everyone receives who goes there long enough." K5 Welcome to the site, I have some advice for you. Wanting to follow in your fathers footsteps is admirable, heeding his advice shows even more character. But you should never make a life changing decision without doing some "research". Now I'll assume your purpose and manner of doing so is what led you to our site (that was smart), but verbalizing that your "desire" to become a Ranger was somewhat "secondary" (that wasn't so smart). The key is you want to know if you can be High Speed. Soon you will answer that question for yourself. Take advantage of all of the information that is on this site, establish a rapport with your fellow DEP'ers.

Becoming a Ranger (if you have what it takes), will change your viewpoint on Group Units and Ranger Units, some Rangers move on to Group Units others remain in Ranger Bn's/Regt. The key is we are both Elite Units with different missions, I wish you the best of luck in determining if you have "The Right Stuff".

Recently I learned that current Rangers don't use the term "Hooah" very often or at least not to the degree when I was in. However, when I was in only Rangers used that term because it reflected the mannerism in which we lived, trained and fought. Bein Hooah is something that you EARN the right to say, not something you say because you think it draws you closer to becoming a Ranger. We view it as a matter of disrepect (although we understand why you want to use it).

Just like Rumple Stiltskin...he wakes up after a long nap and eats someone. Atta boy, Saltbitch.

As for you K5, Im so glad you set the record straight, all these years I thought I was something special being a Ranger but it took a 17 year old o point out I was only second best. I do appreciate the on the spot correction. Some of these guys may not take your correction as well as I do so expect some flaming. Im sure your comment was merely a 17 year old brain fart though if it wasnt we will write it down as you dont know shit about what you are talking about.

PS: Probably 1/3 of these guys have been in SF as well. Think they would know better coming on a 2nd rate Ranger site wouldnt ya? Huh?

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

K5 was merely repeating his Dad's words, no doubt. How many years did your father spend in a Ranger Bn, compared to the time he spent in SF?
