Hi, my name is Christian. I am 22 and enlisted as a 35f with an opt40. After finding this site and reading over countless posts the past couple weeks, I've decided to make an account. I want nothing more than to have the honor of serving this country as a Ranger. Nearly every thought I have is consumed by one day wearing the tan beret. My pt score is not where it needs to be at and I realize that, but there is no doubt in my mind I will achieve my desired goal of a 300 by the end of pre rasp. I leave for basic at Fort Jackson in 11 days (20150126). I look forward to the road ahead of becoming a Ranger.
My final pt test before bct was this morning, my scores:
Pu - 75
Su - 46
2 mile - 14:32
I can do 11 strict form pull ups
I am curious as to what life in the 75th is like for an intelligence analyst. Any advice from current or former Rangers will not go to waste, I'm all ears and eager to learn.

Just keep reminding yourself, if it was easy, everyone would do it.

Re: Introduction- Christian
Ranger Jim, I am from Louisiana, right outside of New Orleans. Before deciding to join the army, I was a delivery driver for an Anheuser Busch distributor. I decided to join because I wanted to be a part of something more and have a job with a purpose that caused me to function at a high level. I've always been an extremely hard worker, quick on my feet, and thinking two steps ahead of everyone around me. Realizing the career path I was on wasn't getting me where I wanted to go, I took a step back to reevaluate things in my life. After talking to friends who are currently on active duty and my family, I felt like my best interest was to join the army. Unlike many people on this forum, joining the army has not always been my goal. But now being the best soldier (eventually Ranger) I can be is my only goal. I will not stray from the path to bring me to that goal. I am more than ready to get this journey underway. I'm excited I'm finally to the point where I can stop talking about it and start doing it.Please tell us more about yourself. Where are you from? You have established a PT baseline to build on, Please look at the letters from school thread; there are several on the subject Never, never quit!
Just keep reminding yourself, if it was easy, everyone would do it.

Welcome Christian, the path you are about to take is one of the hardest paths you can take. You have very little time left to prepare. You need to be in the best shape you can possibly be in, both physically and mentally. Don't stop preparing when you start basic, it will not prepare you for what lies ahead. Continue to work out on your own when possible. Push harder than anyone else in your platoon, Be the best at everything you do. Give everything you've got, ever time you give and never, ever Quit!!!!!! RLTW

Re: Introduction- Christian
Ranger rangerjd, when I get to basic I'm kicking my preparation into overdrive as much as possible. I am by no means looking past basic or taking it for granted, but my main focus is being prepared for rasp and life after. I've always strived to be the best at everything I do and I am super competitive, I plan on being right there at the top of the platoon striving to get better every day.
Just keep reminding yourself, if it was easy, everyone would do it.
