You could probably buy 5 or 10 jeeps for what this thing will cost the military. And yet the gov't. slashes bennies for the troops while spending big bucks for something that could be acquired and adapted for much less than what these cost.
I have no clue what the price tag is, but I would bet money it is far more than a Jeep Wrangler. Probably breaks down more, too.

Yep, I'm terrified of what the price tag will be. Particularly since this thing is being built by Boeing.
A souped up Wrangler off the lot these days is right around $30k, which is still highway robbery.

The issue that nobody wants to address is a basic one. When the V-22 was designed, it was not designed to hold the M-151 but rather, it was designed to carry the smaller vehicle used by the USMC. This has handicapped the load carrying capability. Today, if USMC needs to carry a vehicle, it has to be sling loaded.
