Introduction - Josh

Post by jgde93 »

Hello Rangers, my name is Josh. I'm 20 years old, residing in Delaware. I am an 11X option 40 with a ship date of 20131231. This is my first post, although I've been a member of the site for a few months now. I usually just use the search button because all of my questions so far have been answered in most forums already. I have been following Ranger Jim and Ranger Goon175 on their responses for a while now, as they have a lot of insight and have answered many of my questions. I would like to give a huge thank you to them, all the Rangers on this site, and in the 75th. I am in the process of memorizing the Ranger Creed, Ranger History, and have made a point to knock out one extra rep for the Airborne Ranger in the sky. I have read the FAQ's and took the time to self administer a PT test before I posted. The results are as follows:

Push-ups: 87
Sit-ups: 76
2 mile run: 13:34

I would like to get the pu's and su's to 100+ and 2mr sub 13:00.
I have been following the 12 week RASP workout plan. I must say, it is a lot harder than it looks on paper.

Any insight or guidance is greatly appreciated and I do realize I'm not shit but a DEP'er until I prove myself. But I would rather die than quit. Thank you for any responses and for allowing my presence on this site. -Josh

Ranger Affirm, I appreciate such a quick response. My interest in the Regiment has stemmed from grade school. I always had a fascination with planes, guns, blowing stuff up, and the military. I have always wanted to be in Special Operations, simply because they are the best and I want to make a difference. Also, I love the physical aspect and working out. I wanted to do something that mattered, and something that would challenge me both physically and as an individual. But most of all, I'm after the comraderie and sense of pride of selflessly serving my country and being apart of something much bigger than myself. I played baseball all through grade school - college, so I love being apart of a team and the brotherhood that comes along with it. I can only imagine how that brotherhood is in a Regt of some of the best trained soldiers in the world. After researching each other the different branches and spec ops units, I felt as if my strengths and interests most suited the 75th, although countless others have felt the same, so I'll just have to put my foot in my mouth on that note and prove it.

Josh, If you want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. We take pride in the fine young men who pass through armyranger.com in their life journey. Please continue reading the FAQs as well as selected threads and stickies. Most questions you might have are already addressed. The search feature, located on the top right of this page is your friend. Have you been reading the letters from school thread? You may find it helpful. Let me assure you that you get no points from Ranger Goon or me for your compliment. You don't thank a man for doing his job. You need to get more involved in the site; as you do not have a great deal of time left before entering active duty. Never, never quit!
