This announcement is made in the hopes that those who believe in the Brotherhood that binds us together, will find a way to continue its legacy for all those past, present and especially future Rangers. Those who aspire to one day continue to carry the torch and Live The Creed and perpetuate the tradition that began in the earliest years of our nation.

Kind of like “Out of site, out of mind” - there are costs associated with keeping this board alive and running, not to mention all the things you don’t see-such as administrative functions, board updates, tweaking and things too numerous to mention.

Then there are the server costs associated with web hosting, which makes this board available each and every day. While websites may be inexpensive to startup and design, the life blood needed in order to keep them up, running and going requires a host IE a server. Server fees vary somewhat, but most range from 300-400.00 monthly.

Here we are in the month of October. While every donation, no matter how large or small is greatly and humbly appreciated, the current amount of donations received so far is at 1750.00, meaning we are still short of the goal amount in order to continue into next year.

It’s a free country meaning how ever someone may chose to spend their time and where, is one of the great many freedoms we enjoy. The fact is sites like Facebook now have numerous groups which many members spend more time on and frequent on a more regular basis than they do here. Of course, FB is free of charge, mainly because they are a public entity and accept commercial advertising.

While at one time, we had advertising on the site, many members complained about it to the point where the alternative is what we now have. The advertisements have been removed and replaced with a “Donate” tab at the top of the page.

The bottom line is this. If something doesn’t change and very soon, the existent of this site may cease. No one and I mean no one else has the same amount of Ranger related resource material, mentoring program or collective information that exists within these walls of electronic data. NO ONE.

If you think about it, at one time or another, something on this site helped you, by informing you, educating you, connected you with Brothers, parents, relatives or someone you were looking for and lost contact with, or kept you connected with all things Ranger.

In closing, this posting is being made in the hopes that this announcement will bring about the attention necessary to get the amount needed moving forward in order for it to continue as long as there’s a free country and those men amongst men willing to step up and continue the tradition.
