Welcome to the site. Don't be in any rush to DEP in while you're finishing your final year of school. Wait until that paper says Option 40, and if it doesn't, tell them you'll come back when it does. Good luck.

Seth, You have a strong PT baseline. Ensure that you maintain it. Add pull-ups to your routine. You need to work with your local recruiter to obtain an Option 40. I grew up in Central Pennsylvania, Juniata County, and had relatives who lived in Cresson. Small world. My MA is from Georgetown. We have a number of Catholic-educated Rangers. Never, never quit!

Welcome. While your PT scores look pretty good on paper, I'd venture to say that with a regulated grader you'll see those same scores drop off quite a bit so don't let the numbers make you feel as though you don't have to work just as hard everyday doing PT.

First chance you get you should ask a recruiter or someone with actual knowledge of APFT Grading to assist you in conducting another test, you'll notice a considerable difference and have a more realistic score to work on.

Good luck on your journey young man, and thank you.

Roger, Ranger Jim, I'll make sure to add pull-ups to my training. It is a small world. I had a few residents two years ago on my floor (I'm currently a Resident Assistant at the Mount too) that graduated from Tuscarora Valley HS.
I went to East Juniata -- which is one of the reasons I stayed in the Army.

Additionally, college life has shown me what I do not want to do: work around immature and un-motivated individuals. I'm not the type to give up or settle for mediocrity, so once I decided to serve I was looking for a no BS elite unit, and I found/fell in love with the Rangers.

Self-administered PT Test (7:46 PM 8/5/13) Seems your time is off - am or pm is after your post

Sit-ups (2:00)- 107
Push-ups (2:00)- 94
2 mile run - 13:46
I took the liberty to write the time of your post next to your name on top.

If this small item were you directing artillery and the last round was but 50 yards out & you said drop 50 (instead of raise 50) you can kiss your ass goodbye*, cause you just blew yourself up. Small items of detail do matter. Thats why we have a preview button before you press submit.

*If the enemy is in your midst would be a good idea but same effect. Incoming does not go after just enemy.

Aside from this small detail - welcome & learn.
Go pick a double cherry avatar, you will need once you get an Opt 40.
How many pull ups can you do?
