Shades of the midnight pay raises of the early 1990s. The House would show up at midnight, give themselves a pay raise, because the C-Span cameras weren't on then. This led to a major backlash, that booted out a 40 year Democratic controlled Congress (y'all may remember it as the Contract on America led by Gingrich).

However there will be no backlash now. Half the country doesn't give a shit what the President does and will back him no matter what. The other half knows he's a douchebag, but has either given up, or is hunkering down, collecting ammo, waiting for the knock on the door.

What I thought interesting was Obama's recent executive order that gave the president Secret Service protection for life, instead of the normal ten years.

So, wonder why he thinks he is going to be threatened for the rest of his life?

Even better, why does he want armed protection... oh, never mind... you can't own guns in Chicago.
