I've known Chuck for many years. He also served with the 81st Vietnamese Airborne Ranger Battalion. He will remain in my prayers daily.

Chuck passed away this morning at 0830 without ever regaining consciousness (he deserved that he did not suffer). His daughter Renee is arranging the details but told me that services will be on Monday, 24 September in Columbus, GA.
The community has lost a great Ranger and I have lost a great friend, one I knew for more than 60 years. Lord knows, he was something of a crusty curmudgeon but that only endeared him to his friends.
Chuck will be missed.

Half of Chuck's ashes were placed in a niche in the cemetery at Fort Benning; the rest were scattered by a freefaller over Fryar Field. Chuck, you were always my hero!
