I ship out for BCT and AIT in Nov. to Benning. I have a college degree and was captain of my college football team. That being said, I could not be guaranteed a ABN contract because I needed a waiver for a bump on my toe. Completely rediculous because it has been there for years and I stay in very good shape and it has never bothered me. I am joining the army to SERVE MY COUNTRY. I make a lot of money and have a great fiancee but this has been something that has been eating at me for a very long time and I couldn't ignore it anymore.
Sorry this is getting so long... I was told by my job counselor that I would have no problem getting into ABN and RIP with my PT scores and as long as I take care of businees in OSUT. I chose Benning because I wanted the best chance of becoming a Ranger. Will this be difficult for me to achieve and hopefully achieve immediately following OSUT? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and you guys are the reason I want to become a Ranger.

You play craps? You know, roll the dice and shoot for the right number? How many winners do ya think there are?
That's what you're doing. If it ain't in writing, then it ain't guaranteed.
If it was me......I'd pull back. Start all over. They found a bump. Then get it fixed and try again.
I've said it to everyone one of you cherries with a dream. DON'T SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS IT'S WHAT YOU WANT. IF IT DOESN'T HAVE "OPTION 40" ON IT, GET UP AND WALK AWAY.
Is it so hard to understand? You went to college. So, roll the dice. Hell, ya might get lucky, ya never know. Do ya?

Take Ranger Bell's advice. Most recruiters are full of shit and just want to get you in the Army. They ARE trying to meet a quota reguardless of what they say.
