Read this one, "Charlie Wilson's War":

How an alcoholic, pussy chasing liberal Democrat and a Greek immigrant's son from Aliquippa, PA (near me) defeated the Soviet 40th Army in Afghanistan.
Without a doubt, the most extraordinary story I have read in years. If they make it into a movie, many people will have a hard time believing it really happened. I just read the 9/11 report (which is also very good) and they kept referencing how Al Qaeda veterans of the war against the Soviets (who fought with the Mujahedin) in Afghanistan felt they could beat any superpower. It wasnt due to the intervention of Allah, it was due to the largest covert supply and logistics operation in CIA history. Really amazing stuff. I give it 5 toads.
If you want to read a good book.....

We could put a whole reading list together, but the 9/11 Reports should be required reading for everyone... Without question. I've got some other's but I've now got to go find Terrorist Hunter.

A late addition to that. Tom Hanks has bought the script and will be producing the movie.
