"Seems those of us who enjoy cooking up a good barbeque still have our uses in Afghanistan. Got this in my news feed today, from the Telegram in the UK:

"United States Special Operation Command is looking for butchers and cooks who can teach how to slaughter livestock, then prepare a meal. It wants its commandos to learn to prepare an "Afghan meal cooked in the style and presentation that would be expected by local village elders", according to procurement documents."

Seems there is now a three-day course in butchering and cooking for troops in Afghanistan. 132 troops will attend training at Eglin AFB, FT Bragg and FT Lewis. Think this will be a new ODA designation or a skills identifier, like W8? "
