Brownell's military, LEO discount

Post by RangerX »

So I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Brownell's. While creating my account it asked if I was current/former military or LEO. Suddenly I am getting a 20% discount.

Why wouldn't you get the discount?

That discount is pretty sick - saved a ton of money when I was rebuilding my AR a couple of months ago. Unfortunately it doesn't extend to the majority of the Sinclair Intl stuff as I do a ton of reloading and would love to save some cash in that area.

Namely cuz when I read that statement it left enough gray area for me to ask a couple questions of myself.

1. Does it specifically say Veteran? NO
2. Do I consider myself Active / Retired LE or Military? No
3. Does it reference Firefighters? NO
4. Am I or was I ever PSP? NO

So how do I qualify?

Dam morals my 'rents raised me with, sometimes they suck :)

Seriously X. If you interpret Brownells question in a way that sheds light my direction. Throw it at me.

Well maybe I am a little liberal in my interpretation, but I usually take "retired" military to indicate veteran. Most of the legal docs I have dealt with in Georgia (such as the one that gets me a free drivers license) are worded such.

Edit-

My parents wouldn't know morals if they fell out of the sky, landed on their faces and started to wiggle.

And as Zonk pointed out below, while my morals may not fit the "norm", I do have a very strong belief in what is right and what is wrong. So far this has served me well.

Taking a discount from a retailer because of my interpretation of their discount policy will not cause me to lose any sleep.

Got distracted, meant to reply to this earlier.

Yeah, reloading supplies are a bitch. Between lack of inventory and the hazardous shipping fees, it's a wash.

I use Widener's & Midsouth a lot, as well as Midway occasionally.

One thing that helps is that my shooting club has a reloader's coop. Basically once a month people pool together to place an order. Helps defray shipping, etc.

Fair enough, I have always just made/felt a destinction between myself (a 5 year chump/self-imposed) and those that actually draw a full retirement from 20+ years of service to this nation.

I dont think it would cause me to lose any sleep either, guess I just look at statements like that from a very literal perspective. God knows why? When I need that ACOG at 20 percent off I will hit you up..
