Greetings,

My military history is...well differnt than most. I started out joing the Navy striaght out of highschool and became a flight deck crewman on the USS George Washington, changed my rate and transfered to HC-2 Search and Rescue and when my time was up I decided to get out and see if I realy wanted to have a career in the military or was there something else out there. After installing satellites, working in security, a few factories in a 3 year time peroid I decided that I needed to be back in the military, so I enlisted Army 11x and with about 2 weeks left at Ft. Benning I tore my ACL and ended up being med-boarded. I went to the VA and won a wrongful discharge case and got free surgury, rehab and 10% disability.
Since I couldn't get a job with a bum leg I decided to use my GI bill and get some college so when I re-enlisted I could get some points or maybe even a promotion out of it. One day this MSG who was an ROTC instructor stopped me about a shooting contest (he had no idea of my history) and after a brief converstaion I decided to talk to the ROTC recruiter. My plan was to take the classes and do PT once I was back in shape and my leg was better I would drop out of college and re-enlist for 11x again.
Well fast foward 4 years I'm graduating from college and getting commissioned as a Infantry LT.

Now I'm serving in the 82 2-505 PIR 3BCT taking my 2nd Platoon recently.
I got rejected on day 0 of Ranger School after IOBC because I was sick when I arrived and the medics turned me away. So I reported to my unit attended PRC and recently graduated Ranger Class 1-11. I was on the extended program, Florida Phase.
There has been Infantry soldiers in my family since the first one served under Andrew Jackson, I'm the first officer and Ranger School graduate. I never thought it was happen but here I am living the dream.

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.

Welcome here, Lt. !!!

Enjoy our little patrol base and ALL the stories about how hard Ranger School was before ya got there ! 8)

And in case you're wondering, yes, we did have one M.R.E. per every five days in Mountains AND we didn't use parachutes in Florida Phase during our jumps. We just jumped right into the swamps from 800 foot AGL and did really good PLF's. 8)
