First off I would like to thank each and every one of you for your service in the United States Military because without your service none of us could enjoy the freedom we take for granted day in and day out.
My name is Jeremy and although I may be a new member to this forum i've been reading through different topics on here for the better part of a year now. I currently work in manufacturing for a big steel company and am a member of the UAW. Back in late July I signed an 11x option 40 contract and am eagerly awaiting my ship date which is scheduled January 4th 2011. I spend a lot of my free time running outside and going to the gym. The main reason I signed up was to thank you Rangers for all the great knowledge you have allowed me to receive on your forums and for any advice you may want to give.
My current APFT scores are as follows:
Sit-ups - 58
Push-ups - 65
2 mile run - 13:51
I have done a 12 mile road march in 2:36 but with only a 20lbs weighted vest
Thank you again for your service and your time Rangers, I look forward to hearing from you.

I applaud your desire to serve our country and your decision to make a commitment.
Others will be along shortly to respond to your post.
Do you think you can improve on your PT scores, esp. the running?

Re: Introduction - Jeremy
Thank you Ranger Lefty.
To be honest I haven't done a whole lot of PT since I stopped playing sports back in High School. I graduated in 06 and have always had a decent build but up until July I haven't been staying in shape like I should have been. That being said after I signed my contract back in July I did a self-administered APFT and scored:
Sit-ups - about 41
Push-ups -about 46
2- Mile run - was atrocious at 15:23
I've been working hard at improving the above areas the last couple of months and i'm positive I can get the push-ups and sit-ups into the high 70 range and the 2 mile in the high 12 to low 13 range before BCT. My real trouble are sit-ups for some reason, i've never been able to do sit-ups as easily as push-ups.
