Greetings to all! I'm an Airborne qualified Infantryman currently stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. To be quite honest I'm begining to get pretty desperate and i signed up to this Forum because i'm pleading for help and it seems theres no better place to seek it then here, I will try to make this brief. When I originally shipped to OSUT in Sept 2008 I had RIP in my contract, finishing Airborne School i reported to RIP holdover and shortly after started RIP in late March of 2009. Becoming a Ranger was my dream, its been my goal ever since i joined the Army and i can't think of anything else I'd see myself doing. However, back then perhaps i wasnt in the greatest shape and my running especially sucked, I failed the 5-Mile and fell out of almost every run during the Course. I also sustained an injury to my leg and was dropped from the course. After a brief period on WorldWide assignment I got orders to Ft. Bliss and have been miserable ever since. Since then however i've dedicated every moment to improving my physical strength and knowledge and basically transforming myself to the person I should have been over a year ago. I was promoted to Specialist ahead of my peers and have one of the highest PT scores in my Company. My run went from a 14:40 in GA to a 13:15 at 3500ft ASL here in El paso, PT score jumped from a 245 to a 285 and I expect to be in the high 290's here soon.
Whew, Well that backstory wasnt so brief I apologize for that :) . Basically what I am asking is help for a second chance at "life" I guess you could say. I want to volunteer for Regiment and for the past 4 Months I've been trying everything I can, I've made countless phone calls to Regimental Recruiting without success along with E-mails. I seem to be running out of options but I've read on this Forums about some people perhaps in my situation that have been helped to successfully navigate there way to a RASP slot. Thank you ahead of time for any guidance.
