Security Clearance Opt40

I have a record that includes a misdemeanor marijuana possession when I was 20yrs old. I am 30 now and haven't used in almost 10 yrs. A recruiter told me there was no way I could get a security clearance even though it's been a decade since this incident. Are my chances of being a Ranger over? Can I still demand an Option 40? All I want is a shot at the Rangers, I won't sign if I can't get get a guarantee of at least the opportunity.

I think it is a bit misleading to say you "cannot get a clearance". Define "misdemeanor marijuana possession". You can send it PM if you prefer.
