Hello, my name is Jim and I'm 23 years old with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration currently working for Marriott International. I'm one month away from paying off my private plan student loans and plan on contacting an Army recruiter to enlist with an 18X Special Forces contract. Earning the title of Green Beret and truly testing the limits of my character has always been a dream. As an athlete, I thrive on competition and the feeling of accomplishment when reaching goals that at times can seem a world away. I know the majority of active members on this site are Rangers, but I want to thank you for putting together this excellent web-site that has proven extremely informative and helpful in clarifying my goals and the path to achieving them.
Currently, I have not taken a complete PFT assessment. However, I would estimate my abilities around 50 PUs, 60-70 SUs, and a 13:30 2 mile time. I'm actively training after work 5-6 days a week and keep a log of my workouts and progression. I will post an update after contacting my recruiter.

Thanks for the welcomes Ranger Bill and Ranger al_2ndWolfhounds!
I had my first appointment with Sgt 1st Class Toomer today at the recruiting office, which all-in-all was a success. He provided a few bits of information that were new to me and seemed like a straight forward and honest recruiter. I didn't realize that the loan repayment program and Army College Fund are mutually exclusive, but this isn't a deal breaker by any means. The 18x program is also open for business with positions open, which was really encouraging. I'm scheduling some time off in the next two weeks from work for the ASVAB and on the 27th I go in for my pulmonary exam. I had asthma as a kid, with my last attack at 7-8 years old. However, I was prescribed an inhaler by doctors after 13 for Bronchitis requiring me to get a MED Read. (Here's to hoping that it doesn't take a month to come back) Training is on course and I'm looking forward to my first PFT. That's all for now.
