New to the site
Hello Rangers and others, my name is Matt, I am not a ranger... yet. I am serving as active duty air force overseas in Germany. My unit is the 52 Security Forces Squadron in Spangdahlem Germany. I graduated pre-ranger school this summer, and am now waiting until October so my unit will have money to send me to Ranger School. Right now I want to either stay in the air force and retrain to CCT, or when my tour is up go army and fly helos as a warrant officer. As for hobbies I climb, backpack, and am moving into mountaineering/alpine climbing. I joined this site to research and if nessecarry ask any questions concerning ranger training/prep. Thanks Rangers!

Thanks for serving our country. My family and I certainly appreciate your sacrifices. I was totally unaware that a AF unit in Germany offers pre-ranger training???
BTW, are you a Raven?

Also, I am not a Raven, you have to be at a base with big planes to do that. I am at a fighter base.
The pre-ranger class I attended was held in Shweinfurt Germany, at Camp Robinson. The class held by the 786th Security Forces Squadron (a small highly deployed unit made up of tabbed out SPs, and Ravens). The class ran in May. The 786th does not hold classes routinely, it was just an oppurtunity I lucked out with. It was run by the AF, but the majority of RIs were army, as was the majority of the class. 50+ joes and about 12 of us zoomies. Great fun, I was very impressed with the RIs vocabulary... found myself laughing and in pain in the FLR.
Thanks all for the welcome!

You've already got your slot in the pipeline for CCT?
I hadn't heard of this, I wish you well. Sounds like some kind of plan.
Good Luck

BETTER KNOWN AS RANGER COUNTRY!avidwanderer wrote:Hello Rangers and others, my name is Matt, I am not a ranger... yet. I am serving as active duty air force overseas in Germany.
