I guess I'm too STUPID!

Since my district here in NY is full of stupid and ignorant people we have been blessed with a representative who knows what is best for us.

"MASSA: I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful.

(inaudible participants' comments regarding the "interests" of the district statement from Mr. Massa)

MASSA: I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them."


Am I missing something here. Aren't all politicians supposed to representing the people who vote them into office? FYI: I voted against him for obviou reasons!

McD, I will have to agree with you whole heartedly! NY does seem to have way more than their share of DUMB voters. NY has elected way more than their share of knuckleheads!!! Charlie Rangel, who is under investigation, just happened to remember 3 Million in assets that he had forgotten to report, going back to 2002. He just filed an amended financial disclosure form. One was a bank account with a mere 1/2 million dollars in it. Yeah, I forgot about that one!!!

The US is actually a democratic republic......

The House of Representatives was set up with 2 year terms to more directly reflect the peoples will as the Representatives have to answer to their constituents every two years.

The Senate is the part of the legislative branch that is supposed to do the big picture, best for the country thing.... That is why Senators have a six year term; so that if some of the constituents get upset over one issue ,there is some time before they have to answer to them.
