I apologize as this is also in my introduction however i don't see anything to let me edit it out.
Anyway my question is regarding security clearance and i have yet to find someone with a situation similar to mine online already after searching countless hours(its always one or the other), i am having to enlist with a moral waiver for a little trouble i got in when i was 15. Its not something im proud of, the short is one parent was getting a divorce and both where having a really bad custody battle with each other, one night me and my mom got into it, she bit me and i hit her. I'm not making excuses i regret it but i cant change the fact so i used the experience to become a better person, and recently become a good husband and father. The other thing that has me worried is i declared bankruptcy roughly 8-10 months ago, i had a new car and after a few months found out i was going to be a father so i knew i wouldn't be able to afford the car and gave it back and then declared bankruptcy on it my bills i had before, while late, where being payed off slowly.(was without a job for about 6 months, the economy here has sucked since before i got out of high school due to ford and gm closing down plants but i was starting to pay everything off again) I was hoping i could get actual rangers opinions, i talked to my recruitment processor and she "claimed" she talked to the security clearance guy at meps when she picked me up from my asvab/physical and he said no way but i hadn't seen him in all day and i was originally told it was a case by case basis. Also I'm not sure if it matters but my asvab score was 95 with line scores between 135 and 147, and my physical was all 1's except a 2 for glass's(corrected to 20/20 both eyes far sight, 20/20 on eye and 20/25 other near sight iirc.) My grandfather was a ranger in Vietnam before being medically discharged and i would like to follow in his steps and am willing to do whatever is asked of me to become a ranger, however i hate to think i am going to be denied because i made the right decision and chose my family over a car, or because i made a horrible decision when i was younger that i still regret to this day.

Re: security clearance question
as a little bit of a clarification im not being told i cant get into the army(ive been told im getting in 100% that the waiver wont be a problem just a waiting game for it to go through the steps) my worry is just the security clearance so i was hoping someone might have first hand experience and if it ended up being ok or not.
Re: security clearance question
To try and reorganize this so people can read it easier, or in some cases just read it ill re post it.
My question is regarding if anyone believes ill be able to obtain a security clearance or if there is any possibility i will be able to obtain a option 40 contract. As of yet i have not found anyone with a similar situation to mine, everyone either needs a moral waiver or had a bankruptcy not both. My problem isn't enlisting, as i have been told by my recruiters that they have gotten people with worse crimes and/or multiple crimes in without too much trouble, and that i should not worry. Especially since it happened over 7 years ago and i had no trouble previously or since.
First the moral waiver part, in 2002 when i was 15 i was going through a rather difficult time. My father was going through a divorce, me and him where not talking, and both him and my mom where putting me in the middle of there worst custody battle ever. Please don't get me wrong i am in no way using that as an excuse. No one was exactly in the right state of mind and during a heated argument one night with my mother she jumped on me and bit me, without thinking i hit her to attempt to get her to quit and it was the worst mistake of my life.
I can't take back what i did i can only, "use" i suppose is the best word in this case, the experience to become a better person, and insure my wife and son never ever go through something like that.I have no excuses, i accept i did it and shouldn't have i just felt that if anyone is to help me they need all the facts.
Secondly, about 8-10 months ago i filed a bankruptcy, i was starting a family and i needed it done. The primary source of this was i bought a car and a few months later i found out i was having a baby, so i decided the car had to go. Previously i had been making payments on the car, none missed, and had been paying off my other debts as well.
I spoke to one of my recruiters and she "claimed" to have spoken with the security liaison when she picked me up from Meps, and he said no way, even though i hadn't told her the details of the bankruptcy yet. However i hadn't seen him there the entire day and had watched her walk in. I want to be a ranger more then anything, my grandfather was one and i would like to make him proud by earning my way into the rangers as well if possible. If it matters my asvab score was 95 with line scores between 135 and 147, and my physical was all 1's except a 2 on eyes for glass's, 20/20 corrected far sight and 20/25 one eye with 20/20 other eye corrected near sight if i remember correctly.
Hopefully this reformatted will be acceptable for those who may or may not be able to help me. Heck if its even possible I'm more then willing to give up any bonus's if that would help get me an option 40 contract. Thank you for your time.

I apologize I've tried to make it as readable as i possibly can short of having someone more skilled in grammar and spelling do it for me, which unfortunately i have no one capable of doing that at my disposal.

Re: security clearance question
What do you wanna hear? We tell everyone the same thing
1. If you want a Ranger contract then do not sign anything until you get it!
2. When applying for your clearance, be truthful and answer all questions honestly. Do not attempt to evade or manipulate the truth.
The bottom line is this...if your recruiter doesn't offer what you want....shop around. If you notice a trend Ie: all the recruiters telling you no way, then it might be time to reassess your goals.
