ROP Pre-Training

Post by Caveman's_Kid »

Hello Rangers,
I have Airborne School and ROP bearing down on me quick, fast, and in a hurry. With 6 months to go before my fun begins, I want to make sure all my bases are covered. What tactical training should I be brushing up on right now in preperation for ROP? I've been stuck in a REMF unit for too long, while my PT/Marksmanship hasn't dwindled at all, I want to make the most of the time I have left so I don't find myself down the road wishing I had gone over something else. My buddy who graduated selection but got hurt halfway through the Q Course tells me he heard its just a smoke fest and there isn't anything to worry about ("All brawn and bravery, not on brains, you're going to ROP not Ranger School," he tells me). I haven't done a shoot house since 2003, and the only time I get use either the M16A2/M249 as knocking down green-painted communists at the local firing ranges here on installation for qualification. Please fill me in on what I'm about to see/do in ROP. I'm looking for serious answers here, I know why I'm going down this path, and failure is not an option for me. Just give me the facts.

V/R,

You need to concentrate on the standards that are publicly viewable...no one here is interested in giving you an unfair advantage.

If I made it through ROP then anyone can!
