Hello
I am the product engineer and developer for a company by the name of MIL-SIM-FX.
MIL-SIM-FX develops non-pyro explosion simulators for military and law enforcement training.
There are several military installations across the US that are currently testing our product line.
My main reason for coming to this chat forum is to get feedback from yourselves in regards to your training needs. I'd also love to hear what you think of our product line and read your ideas on how it can be encorporated into your present training.
Our non-pyro blast simulators are safe enough that you can literally be standing over top of them when they blow, as seen in some of the video clips that I posted in another section on the forum.
I would also welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have for future product development. I'm sure there must be many different scenarios that you train in, that I'm unaware of, where non-pyro blast simulators would be beneficial.
Regards,
Ken Hammond

Those two statement above, while sounding innocent and sincere, raises my radar Ken.HammerArea51 wrote:My main reason for coming to this chat forum is to get feedback from yourselves in regards to your training needs. We might talk a lot and about a lot but as far as getting one of us to explain our training situations and scenarios to you is gonna be like pulling teeth.
Your intent is understood. However, your questions should be directed to the Officers in charge of training at the individual units. Since you already have access to information and deal with the military already, you should be able to contact individual units for input. I'm sure those soldiers can give ya some pretty nifty ideas.
I'd hate to make any comments or get into a conversation about this because I'm not sure what is or isn't public information.
Good luck with your product. I like it.

Ken:
Great product you make and a good friend of mine is purchasing several units and associated supplies from your company as we speak.
As Ranger Bell pointed out in his entry, no one on this site would knowingly divulge any weaknesses that our military would need to improve upon in an open forum, so as not to strengthen the hand of any potential opponent of our military. There are countless training scenarios that your product could be used in, that are exactly the types of scenarios that would make an IED effective in use. It would not suit our forces for us to point out how to effectively engage our service members in this open forum, however.
All the same, welcome to the site and we hope there is other useful information for you here.
I have not used your product, but as I mentioned my buddy is currently buying it from you. I am sure the folks at the installations would give you great feedback on how to improve the product if you asked them for it. My understanding is that it is very reasonably priced and costs far less to train the soldiers than anything else out there on the market.
Personally though, after seeing the videos - and not having the experience of using the product - I can say that I hope it hurts a great deal when someone is hit by it so that the training sticks in their mind quite well.
Welcome.

MIL-SIM-FX
It's been a couple years since the last post on this thread and
in that time MIL-SIM-FX has gone on to become one of the
prime suppliers to the Army, when it comes to reuseable,
non-PYRO blast effects simulators.
For a look at how they're being employed by some, check out
the article entitled "Kerspat! Combat Training with Paintballs
and Baby Powder," which appears in the 13 Feb 06 issue of
Army Times.
If you'd like more details on some of the new things MIL-SIM-FX
has coked up, drop me a line.
