On January 1st 2009 Drew Hoelck, a twenty four year old former Army Ranger, set off from Pacific Beach in San Diego California on a 10 month journey across the United States. He will not be traveling by airplane or car, but by his own two feet. He will be following the footsteps of early Americans, living off of the land. He will have to trap his own food and find his own water, forgoing the luxuries of modern civilization. His journey will take him all the way to South Carolina, where he will be able to rest on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
