Places to Live
I want to move somewhere when I ETS. I'd like to hear recommendations on places to check out. So if you live in a nice place or know of one... Post it here. I'd rather not live directly in a big city and I don't really want to be on the coast... Even though I might move back to Maine to be closer to my family =p.
I've been looking into Colorado pretty heavy. So if anyone has some first hand experience in the area north of Denver, or just around there, that would be super.

You can't afford it. Consider WAY north of Denver. Sheridan, Wyoming to be exact. Call me or Vee.Disinfertention wrote:in the area north of Denver, r.

Re: Places to Live
It did look expensive around there. A decent 3 bedroom house was 200k easy... and I don't even know if they were in a good area. When I say decent... Means I probably still wouldn't buy it...K.Ingraham wrote:You can't afford it. Consider WAY north of Denver. Sheridan, Wyoming to be exact. Anywhere in Texas is good - where men are men and women are proud of it! I've heard in other states that where men are men, sheep are nervous...

Re: Places to Live
Disclaimer: I am not a Texan and have never lived there.
Im kind of joking and I'm kind of serious on this, but Texas is the only state in the Union that has the right to suceed from the United States. They secured that right as a condition of joining the union in the first place.
I mention this, because you might find yourself living somewhere in the 50 states and waking up one day with everything that you loved about your country taken from you. When that day finally comes, you'll want to surround yourself with people that will also be as disappointed as you are.
If you don't you will have no choice but to sit back and suck it.
I'd rather be a citizen of the "Republic of Texas", than a terrorist in one of the other 49.
Just a little something to think about.....

Sure as fuck wouldn't be a terrorist. History is written by the victors. They may label as that at first, but by the time we are sending them to Europe and Canada...basicload wrote:terrorist
Since they would throw away their guns, I'm pretty sure it would be a short contest.

Not much in and around Sheridan, but they have an excellent WyoRodeo in July. Loved dancing in the streets!! The Mint and King's Saddle Shop is kinda cool, and the Bighorns are next door..they are magnificient. I just can't do their winters, they're brutal.K.Ingraham wrote:You can't afford it. My advice: Anywhere in eastern, northern, central or coastal Texas.
To be loved is to be fortunate, but to be hated is to achieve distinction.

And don't forget the switchback roads, the mountains, the evergreens, the bear crossing signs, and the cougar caution signs of Big Bend!cryhavoc wrote:There is a saying down here that pertains to me.
I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could. This IS the finest place to live. Lots of freedoms, plenty of hunting(year round), hot women and cold beer.
Texas has a region that resembles any part of the US from piney wood forests, vast plains, hill country, prairies, desert and brush country and beaches. Whats not to love.

Re: Places to Live
There's a post in the BOTR forum where I posted a site that asks you a series of questions and then selects the top places for you to live based on your answers. I thought it was pretty good. Not perfect, but interesting anyway.
Obviously, I'm a little biased on the best place to live.
That does not, however, make me wrong.

Well, Dis...self, Rico, and 2 fine 3rd Batt pods of yours just spent the weekend at the ranch, shooting, drinking, and extolling the extreme virtues of Texas. A man can do well, live well, and have a hoot...all for less money and hassle than most areas. Yup, you see the trend above and seems Texas is a favored place....you catchin the drift? As for the heat and humidity commented on...
11 months of summer is a pretty good trade off.....
...heat and humidity....WTF!
