Enlistment Option

I have a question about enlisting. I plan on going in the Army to become an Airborne Ranger but I don't have my full citizenship yet. I know if I don't have my full citizenship I'm not able to go into the Rangers until I get it. Doing a lot of research and asking questions I came up with 2 options.

1. I could wait for however long it would take to get my full citizenship and then enlist with an Option 40

or

2. I could enlist as a 11b/airborne serve till I have my full citizenship and then try to get into Ranger School, apply into the Regiment.

My question is does option 2 sound the best way to go? Or is there a better way?

With option 1 you can insure that you get the opportunity, with option 2 you put your fate in the hands of a lot of other people who don't really care if you achieve your goals or not.
