Criminal Record

Post by ljs089 »

Hey Guys, I don't want to waste your time so i'll be brief. My father is a retired E-8 in the U.S. Army. I'm not even going to lie because my honesty and integrity is set at a much higher standard then the average 20 year old. But i was a little hard ass when i was younger and got into trouble as a dependent overseas and got two charges filed at the MP station. No felony, no court/judge, but i had to fill out a statement and talk to the COL. Anyways it's on record at the PMO/Law and Order office which affects not entry into the armed forces but my security clearance background check or "sf86". I was wondering with underage drinking (6years)ago, yeh i know that was a really young age what the hell was i thinking, and shoplifting(2 cartons of ciggs), would i still be able to dedicate myself and values to become a Ranger?

When i went back to the states my senior year i flipped on that lightswitch and relized i couldn't mess around with this crap anymore and i needed to get squared way real quick now that i was 18 and all. So ever since then i hung out with a new crowd, took up sports, stayed out of trouble and i was sent to a Marine military academy where i took interest in the military life and values.

I understand theres no room for %$#@ up's in this regiment, my father had me speak to a few of his friends who were rangers i never asked them about this situation but they told me that this is a good site to visit for advice. What's your guys input on this? Much appreciated

As for your question, I'm not an expert but I'd say no. I doubt it would even show up.

I agree with your father's friends, this is a good site for what you're looking for.

We do expect you to police yourself and take the time and effort necessary to educate yourself to our rules.

1). Post an introduction in the proper section.
2). This forum is for board support.
3). Capitalize the word Ranger.
4). Address Rangers or other veterans accordingly.
5). Use the search key religiously. The vast majority of the questions you seek answers to have already been asked and answered many times over.
6). Attention to detail goes a long way around here.

I'm going to move this to the recruitment forum and lock it until you post an intro.
