Im wondering the good that could come of the Government continuing to bail out free enterprize for its failings. Maybe its short sighted but to bail out every business sector that made bad choices, bad business decisions, and meanwhile paid themselves BILLIONS makes no sense to me. None. It isnt the Governments money...its yours and mine.

Unfortunately,
This bill not being passed is going to have a major effect on whether a Republican gets into the Presidential office.
Bipartisan sniffling and our representatives not voting for something because someone offended them, personally?
Don't be so blind.
Besides, if McCain simply states that he's working on it, in his reply to the veto on the Bailout Bill, I may actually consider another choice.
Principals before parties! I joined the military to do some good in this state, this country, and most importantly, this world.
Have the ones on the Hill forgot that, too?
Just something to think about before saying that it's "my" money, too.
"He is no fool to give what he can not take to get what he can not lose."

I'll make an on-spot correction for you. That's not from the book of Proverbs, it is a quote from the Christian missionary, Jim Elliott.Corridor wrote:

That, and you quoted it wrong. Here is the original statement that he made regarding personal sacrifice and missions:
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I'm amazed banks did this. The jackass across the street from me is in the process of getting foreclosed on. Prior to purchasing this house he lost his previous house to foreclosure. What bank in their right fucking mind does this. Then while listening to bits and pieces of Pelosivich's speech I started looking for red flags, tanks, and soldiers high kicking down the street. She actually bashed our system that operates under her watch as a leading member of congress. I agree no bailout. I'm not ready to commit to helping those who were not willing to help themselves.DoorGunner wrote: ( Not literal) I lose my house because I can't pay. I go down the street, get the same house for half the money, forclose on the first one and get a morgage on the second, these jackasses are still giving loans. NO BAILOUT.

This is the second time we have bailed out at least a portion of the banking industry and real estate industry. We bailed the building and loan industry before.
This will not stop until we "Bail out" Congress and start over. Or at least make them understand that if they don't change the game they are playing we will bail them.
