When it happens, don't blame the guy in office at the time. You can't even say this is really Bush's fault. It has been building for years. But he has been asleep at the wheel.

We are trying to fix an amputation with a band-aid. Even with this bailout plan, things are going to get much, much, worse.

Edited to add: It's funny, of the last 4 Presidents, the "fiscal conservatives" have left us with huge deficits, but the "tax & spend liberal" left office with a balanced budget and surplus in the treasury. I'd rather have "tax and spend" than the current "borrow and spend" :?

Why do the CEOs of these companies allow for the companies to get completely screwed over, but they still make millions of USD a year in bonuses...

All politicians tell you to vote for them so they can "serve" you. It reminds me of the rancher's five year old kid who asked his dad what makes the cows have calves. The rancher told the kid that the bull "serves" the cows and that's what makes them have calves. Now you know what a politician really means when he says he is "serving" you or the country.
