Hundreds to be charged in court after RNC protests
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Almost 300 people will be formally charged in Ramsey County District Court on Tuesday after they were arrested during protests at the Republican National Convention, a police spokesman said.
Police arrested 284 people Monday after firing projectiles, pepper spray and tear gas to disperse a crowd demonstrating near the convention site.
Police used plastic handcuffs to detain between 20 and 30 of them a few blocks from the security perimeter around the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.
St. Paul police said 130 of the 284 arrested were being held on felony charges. The rest were charged with various misdemeanors.
A crowd of about 300 people conducted what appeared to be a sit-in in a parking lot near the Mississippi River on Monday.

The protesters were in Denver.Silverback wrote:Why weren't they in Denver also?
I'm willing to bet there were just as many arrests in Denver, but the media just refused to report on it because it would make the Obama canonization look bad.

so I've been back about 5 days. this morning, on the way home from the ever so useful manditory reitegration training and listened to what I thought was a news radio program. I guess it was. Democracy Now was the name of it. they were definately the mouthpieces of and symathetic to all the tree huggers, Code Pinkers, and other assorted special snowflakes.
they were talking about how some of their people got arrested too. the point was, these were fully accreditted, badge wairing press members (according to the person talking) who got rolled up with the law breaking protrestors. as they tried to ID themselves, they had their badges ripped off and tossed into the wagons with all the others.
while I'm all for slapping down the idiots, the press should be able to function unhindered, so long as they are acting lawfully. they made it sound like very heavy handed treatment and repression by the police/FBI/Homeland Security/SS...
listening to it reminded me of the GOP's Chicago convention of 68 or 72. nobody thought much of it til they saw it all on tv. and I haven't seen any of this coverage of this one since I don't have cable hooked up yet.

They showed the extended video to us up here in Minneapolis. She had been asking for it much more than what you saw. Counter-drug sent me up here when the NGB said they needed some intel folks to help with IO. These people here are a bunch of retards! I thought only monkeys threw their poo?Ranger Luna wrote:Hardly......LEROY wrote:Code Pink vs. Denver PD

Still not acceptable behavior by the LEO, IMHO.
To use a phrase, "clown-shoes" or not, that person should not have been dealt with in such a violent fashion.
Freedom of speech still exists, regardless if we disagree with the message being conveyed. (and if the conveyor is a trailer-trash retard type, ONE EACH).
