Ted Nugent Advice to Recent Graduates
"Gather around, high school and college graduates, and listen good -- real good. What I am about to tell you will help you immensely throughout the rest of your lives if you commit to practicing Uncle Ted's proven modus operandi for a quality of life.
Nobody owes you a thing. Everything you will get out of life will be based solely on what you put into it.
As humorist Mark Twain said, "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first."

I think that it is because it isn't very often that a entertainer/celebrity actually says something publicly that makes sense.Silverback wrote:who the fuck cares what Ted has to say? Wait...since he is all guns and cammo we're supposed to love him...shit I didn't get the memorandum.

He is an entertainer and that provides him a podium. While we may not need him to give us or our own chlidren life lessons, it sure can't hurt for his words to reach some others. Following is the Cliff Notes version of what he says, much of which I am willing to bet has not been taught to a lot of kids in this country, and most of it he could have copied from ArmyRanger.com.
- Nobody owes you anything, you have to earn it
The only free lunches are at the homeless shelters
Get a job – if you’re lazy you won’t succeed
Don’t do anything for just money
Live within your means
Trends and peer pressure are for mindless sheep
Avoid negative people
Surround yourself with people smarter than you
In the end all you have is your character and integrity
Eat smart and don’t smoke, use drugs, or eat or drink too much
Take time for family and loved ones
Stand up for what you believe, be polite and courteous but never back down
Thank every police officer and soldier, they defend your freedom with their lives
Know your limits
Leave America in better shape than when you arrived
Trust only those who earn your trust – trust by verify
Never trust the French

I checked Snopes on Ted, I didn't see anything wether or not he said all this. I did see where he dissused the 'thoughts of a deer' before he gets shot.
Several years ago there was a hit popular song aimed at graduating seniors that was on the radio for quite awhile. It had virtually the same advice to kids set to music. I can't remember the name though.
I had the chance to listen to one of speeches a few months ago. He says a lot of this and then some. I hope the man runs for governor in Michigan. We gave a female canadian a shot, why not Ted. The message he give is accountability. You are either in the asset or liablility column, all your decisions in life, and what we do place us in one or the other.RTO wrote:That's next.Tater Nuts wrote:At least we didn't make him a RHOF member.Silverback wrote:who the fuck cares what Ted has to say?
