I graduated OSUT as a 11C out of D Co 1-50 last Friday. I am now in Airborne hold until next Monday. OSUT wasn't all that bad and I learned a lot more then I thought I would. I had two events that kind of added to the experience though. The first was that 30th AG messed up and didn't issue me glasses. The Senior Drill Sergeant allowed me to use my prescription sunglasses at the ranges so I could see what I was shooting at. In a world where you want to blend the sunglasses were a very bad idea! I eventually was given the nick name "Elton John". The second event was coming back from the 12 mile ruck after the FTX and receiving a package from a "friend". In said package was a play girl, fuzzy navel wine cooler and a bag of Hershey kisses. I am going to stomp the life out of that "friend" as soon as I get back to California.
