Medical Waiver

Post by RICAMIC »

Well Rangers; I believe i figured out what i am going to do. If i could get your input it would be greatly appreciated. I know im going to have to get a medical waiver, but do you think if i sent in a video of me doing all the pt for ranger school it will help my chances. In the video i will do the 80 push ups in 2 minutes, the 80 sit ups in 2 minutes, and then the 2 mile run in less then 13 minutes.

I don't think a video will help. The only thing that will be taken into consideration is the Doctor's evaluation.

As strange as it may seem conducting the APFT is about one millionth of one percent of the job you are trying to get. Think about it...twice a year for a total time of 1-hour (for a platoon PT Test).

Go ahead make the video, but make sure it's got some funny things in it so your recruiter will have a reason to watch it.

No.

It took me 15 seconds to find the answer to your question. Clearly, you haven't even looked at the index under Medical Issues.

Go read the stickies.

We did a video for a waiver applicant when I was a recruiter. The applicant only had 3 fingers on his right (shooting) hand.

We taped him firing an M-4 (my buddies) on the range up in Calverton, Long Island.

His waiver was approved, but only to join the Army. He became a mechanic, which he wanted anyway.

I'm not saying this will work for you, but since your recruiter suggested it, I say go for it.

Good Luck.
