DD is being slow...
I recently went to MEPS and am having to go get an ortho consult done for my arm. I have a little trouble supinating my right wrist. My question is if I get the waiver for the doctor that says I am okay for Infantry is that supreme? Meaning is that all I need or am I going to continuously get checked before every school I attend?
Also, if you have any clue ...are waivers hard to get for Infantry? I have been able to compensate for my wrist without any problem my entire life having gone to a military college and have hunted my whole life.
Thanks for any help.

Is that standard or is there anything I can do to change it? Also, would it be different if I went in as an Officer? My initial goal was to enlist because they would pay back my school loans however, I do have a college degree from a military school and could go in as an Officer if that would change the training options. I want the training options or there is no point in being infantry. Thanks for the help.

Just got back from the ortho consult and it went well. Basically, that I am a GO. Now all I have to do is make sure I am listed with 1's across the board and then meet with a counselor and haggle.

Thanks SFC Hit It ....I am waiting to see if the Dr. at the MEPS station accepts the ortho consult review and then will go in to figure out the details of my contract. I guess I can now assume that I should be able to get Airborne and Ranger in my contract. Well thanks for the help and I will let you know.

Well another damn wrench in the plans. According to my recruiter, I am still listed a 3 on the part for my arm. I am not sure what is going on as the Dr. said everything was fine. My recruiter said that his letter will be with the packet when it is sent for the waiver.
The guy who initially looked at my arm was an Opthamalogist(eye doc) and not a specialist. While the Orthopaedic Surgeon said my arm was fine. I am missing something. I have been trying to talk with the Dr. who said it was fine to figure it out but am waiting.
From what I understand, if I get waived up to a 1 then I am fine but if I get upped to a 2 I am a infantry NO GO.
Who knows now...its up to the damn MEP Gods. Great.

A little more info on my situation. I just went to MEPS ad the Dr. recommended me for waiver consideration. Now I have to wait to see if I am waived by the Army. The Ortho Dr. gave me a full GO and the MEPS Dr. recommended it so I think I am in good shape but we shall see in the next week or so.
