Hi, my name is Edward and I am a PFC in the D Co/229th MI BN at DLIFLC in Monterey and recently failed my DLPT. They tell me I now must reclass and aren't giving me alot of options. However, 11x appears as a viable one. I am curious, if I were to choose to go that route, anyone's opinions on the likelihood, best routes to take and any other pertinent advice anyone could give me concerning if I wanted to fastrack the process of becoming one of the Heralded BLACK and GOLD?
I thank anyone in advance for any wisdom they could impart to me,
Sincerely,
SoldierUp

If you were to "Choose that route" you would find very quickly that someone like me would stuff a size 10W jungle boot in your 4th point of contact! You wanna be a Ranger? Why don't you forget about some fucking microwave generation "Fast Track" to earn a title that is reserved for only the most stout hearted, fearless and courageous men I have ever served with. There is no "quick route" to becoming a member of the most feared Infantry unit in the world!SoldierUp wrote:I am curious, if I were to choose to go that route, anyone's opinions on the likelihood, best routes to take and any other pertinent advice anyone could give me concerning if I wanted to fastrack the process of becoming one of the Heralded BLACK and GOLD?

I meant no disrespect or anything like that in saying 'Fast track' - I am sure I could have worded it better and for that I apologize,Rangergronk wrote:If you were to "Choose that route" you would find very quickly that someone like me would stuff a size 10W jungle boot in your 4th point of contact! Ranger Gronk - thank you for setting me straight. The real question was if there was a way to not get detoured, and go through the Airborne and RIP process without getting stuck in a rut somewhere and just HOPING to somewhere down the road get a shot at RIP. I know the process is hard as hell - as it damn well should be - I know ya'll didn't get to be the best in the world by lettin every joe and their little brother get into the 75th.
Again, no disrespect meant - sorry if it appeared that way.
