SFC Hit It Recruiting Troubles
SFC Hit it
During my recruitment I was asked about law violations and told them to the best of my knowledge what I remembered. Well all of my law violations happened over 10 years ago. The last was a DWAI that happened in 97 and with that I had two failures to appear. For that reason I was a waiver. After that there were a few traffic charges for speeding, not showing proof of insurance ( these were dismissed), A theft charge that they could not find records on because it was so long ago, and was dismissed. So as you can see I had what I was told was the limit for offenses with the DWAI and two failures to appear. When they ran the FBI check they found something that I had forgotten about that happened over thirteen+ years ago. It was a charge of reckless endangerment and it was a weapons charge.
What happened was a friend and I was out at his farm shooting bottles in a ditch when somebody called about the shots. Mind you this is in a rural area. A Sheriff came out and my friend went over to talk to him while I sat at my vehicle. The Sheriff then came over and asks me if I had been shooting and I told him yes I had been shooting bottles in the ditch. He then said that I could thank my friend for what was about to happen. Apparently my friend told him that we were letting off fire crackers and he was going to teach him a lesson by arresting me and charging me with reckless endangerment.
When I went to talk to the DA he said that it was ridiculous and that I would get my gun back and charges would be dropped. This is what I remember. But the court docs say different. Apparently they say that I pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment but I received my gun back.
So I am now being told that I may get discharged. I am wondering if they ever let anyone in with over 3 convictions on there record?
Thank you for any help you can give.

I haven't been a SPC in a long fucking time, dude.
You sound worried and rightfully so.
If those convictions (pleading guilty is a conviction) are felony convictions then you aren't going anywhere.
The DUI was enough. Anything over that kind of shit and you're asking you christ to intervene on your behalf.
We'll see what happens. This is going to be ugly.

Thankyou Rangers for pointing out my lack of attention to detail.
SFC Hit it. I wanted to give you a sitrep. After talking with my recruiter I found out that none of my charges were felonies. I also found out that he was not getting anything taken care of and that I needed to go down to the recruiters every day this week to check on his progress. I have filled out a depostion for the incident that showed up on the FBI check. After talking with the recruiter today he said he feels that I am a go but I should know for sure this coming Monday.
After searching the FAQ's again I found that I should have paid more attention to detail.
