It's been a while since I've been around here, so I figured I'd drop in for a quick update. I graduated OSUT on Sept 8 with D 1-19. After graduating Airborne, which started Sept 11, I reported to RIP hold, where I've been for around 2 weeks. We took the RIP PT test friday, which I am happy to report that I passed pretty easily. I'd like to say the test is fair if your form is good, but it seemed like some of the lines were failing way more people than others.

Probably the toughest part about the experience for me is staying 100% motivated the entire time, since the road itself is about half a year of training give or take, but with every bit of success comes more drive to accomplish my goals. After passing the PT test, I'm now ready to throw everything I've got into RIP, and I'm confident I'll pass. The only thing I'm really worried about in RIP is the road marches since I'm a pretty short guy at 5'5", but others like me have done it before, so I know it's possible. Anyway, I'll be back here with updates every so often.

adam26 don't worry about the road marches. How tall a person is doesn't matter, sure shorter men might have to take a few more steps but what matters is how much you have in the will power to drive on and finish the mission. I always got more motivation from watching larger men fall out and this shorter man (me) drive on to become a Ranger. It's in your heart young man and don't ever lose it.Good luck and drive on.

The size of the dog does not matter. What matters is the size of the fight in the dog. Use your size to your advantage. You will do it if your think you can.

You'll do well, just don't get overconfident! Just because THAT PT Test went easy doesn't mean that everything else will. You're going to have to put everything you have into becoming a Ranger!
