Sitrep from a cherry in the making

Post by Buck27 »

Hello all Rangers and other honored board members. I have been trying to put this off until I know my branch, but I have staff duty tonight so here it is. I graduated from basic on September 1st from Fort Jackson on an 09S contract for officer candidate school. Basic was a good time and I am glad I got the opportunity to go. My final pt was 75pu, 82su, and 12:18, but the numbers are inflated as grading was very relaxed. I am in Fort Benning right now and it feels great. I am soo inspired every time I see a Ranger run by me in morning pt. I am in B Co in class 10-06 OCS and hoping to branch infantry and then Ranger School and all that. That is where I am now. Thank you to all the Rangers and others that keep this board going. I really appreciate all the advice and mentoring. I must apologize for my slow answer to any response as my internet time is limited. I hope to one day be called a Ranger and that is my driving force. Until that day, Respectfully, Buck27

Ranger 42L5V, we no longer wear the Helmets that previous classes wear. I myself am in the class before buck27.

I found out I have been branched infantry. It looks like I will get my shot at Ranger School after IOBC. Preparation starts now. It looks like I will be in Benning for awhile. just a quick update, Buck27

Well, Chris, it looks like you have come a long way over the past few months. Becoming an Infantry Officer is great news, but recognize it entails a great deal of responsibility. Unlike other branches, you lead men into harm's way. But there is no greater privilege than to lead American soldiers into combat. Never, never quit.

OCS class 10-06 graduates on Dec 7 and its been an interesting trip. I have learned more from my prior service buddies than any trainer could ever teach me. Thank God they took the time to mentor me and help me unass myself. kageryu311 is a good guy and I look foreward to serving with him. I found out today that I will be going to the All American 82nd Airborne Division and I could not be happier. Its a long road ahead, especially in tradoc, but I will never lose sight of my goal of becoming a Ranger and then leading Rangers. Thank you Rangers and others for your time.

You will find that you have just entered a smaller world. Do not go to the 82d without your Tab if you intend to be a platoon leader.

I had Rifle and Anti-Tank Platoons in 2-508. The best jobs in the world. Most fun you can have with your clothes on.
