intro

Post by CatFish Driver »

According to the rules, our first post has to be an intro about us, so I hope this is the appropriate place to do so.

I am a different case as some would say. I did the whole ROTC thing in college and was originally an FA officer in the 101st ABN. I graduated Ranger School class 08-02 enroute to Campbell. I was a company FSO for my first deployment to Iraq. Upon redeployment I became an XO back in my FA Battalion.

While in Iraq I decided that I didn't want to be in the FA Branch or an officer anymore. I enjoyed my time with the soldiers immensely and wouldn't trade it for the world, but looking down the road, I didn't want to be a staff puke. So I put in a packet to become a warrant officer and go fly, something I have wanted to do all my life.

After 13 months of flight school, I am back with the 101st here in Iraq as a Blackhawk pilot, and I couldn't be happier.

I hope this isn't too much of a ramble, and hello to all Rangers, Veterans and supporters on this site.

Welcome to the site...So lemme get this straight..you thought being an officer you used too much intellect and being an NCO you'd have to do too much work. So you decided to be pampered and have no leadership responsibilities and always ensured yourself a comfortable place to sleep! DAMN! I should of thought of that, what the hell was I thinking....I'm sure your bretheren KWDriver will be along in a minute to give you a handy wipe or some nail strenghtener. Again Welcome, I know you brought your lounge chairs. :D

I appreciate all of your replies. There is no way that I pretend that being a pilot is anywhere near as hard as a line dog. I lived with the infantry for over a year stateside and Iraq and I figured out that walking sucks.

As far as the avatar goes, I posted one. If it doesn't work I can always use one of the suggested ones of this forum. I died laughing looking at the various "O" faces. Priceless.

And it wouldn't be Warrant Officer-like of me to go anywhere without some kind of folding chair.
