New to board

Post by Dud »

Hello,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I'm 23, college grad, set to ship out on the 24th of this month to Ft. Benning, 11x. No OCS, no ABN, no OP40. I'll be a leg . . . so far. I had a disagreement with Uncle Sam and only now are we starting to see 'eye to eye'.

I've already 'met' a number of Rangers and Esteemed Posters from AirborneRanger.com that frequent this site, who have been extremely valuable in both helping me get into the Army and answering my questions. Nevertheless, I understand this forum to be different in its approach and will do my best to not disrespect the policies of the board. If I do, I have no doubt I will receive incoming fire, tremendous in both its accuracy and volume.

Thanks for the time and site, looks great.

Welcome Dud.

It ain't over yet. We finally got ya in the door, now it's time to go to work.

For those that are curious - Dud has been trying for a couple of years to join the service. However, his RK eye surgery was preventing it. Non-waiverable they kept saying. I got onto Dud's program, contacted a thousand people that know what's what, found a waiver (and they said there wasn't one) and after three appeals he won. Now that his foot is in the door it seems that everyone wants to help now. It's been mentioned that he might be able to acquire an airborne option. hmmm. This ain't over yet. Dud will find out this week if he can get the airborne contract. Until then.....

It's been a long haul. And for all ya little DEPers that think we're mean, talk to Dud. We'll go as far as it takes to get ya there if we think you're serious.

Might have to get ya drunk before ya leave. hahahahha. We'll see.

Thanks for the welcome,

Roger that Ranger Bell. Wouldn't be where I am today without your assistance. I know I am brand new to the boards, but i hope alot of the DEP's here can grasp what Bell helped me with. 'AUTOMATIC, PERMANENT DISQUALIFIER'. Over two years I was rejected 8 times, through 4 recruiters, two generals, two colonels, and three congressmen. If you want to confirm that, talk to Ranger Bell, he has a book with about half of my work. Ranger Bell stuck with me, encouraged, smoked me when I needed it, and helped me get a GO. I'm not tootin my horn, I haven't done squat yet, but I hope ya'll understand just what can be done with their help. Where there's a Ranger, there's a way.

And for all with the OP40 contract, cherish it, and do it. I may never get my chance. But you never know, there might be someone out there, somewhere, making contacts through the back roads just waitin for one of ya'll to drop. 8)

Thanks again for the welcome,

Dud

Dang, I hate to be picky but your sig reads as follows:
I will be strong and courageous. I will not be terrified, or discouraged, for the Lord my God is with my wherever I go. (Joshua 1:9)
The 4th word from the end, is it supposed to be my or me? Or should there be other words like: "for the Lord my God is with my soul where ever I go". Or should there be words like: "for the Lord my God is by my side where ever I go." Just wondering Dud. I guess I need clarification here.

Dadgummit (sp?),
Roger that Ranger Steadfast, thanks for pickin that up. It is supposed to be 'me' instead of 'my.' Attention to detail, just about gets me everytime.
