Introduction - filmmaking

Post by batlawproduction »

I am an actor and film producer currently developing a Sci Fi thriller movie about six Army Rangers. I want to be as accurate as possible. If there are any Rangers out there who would honor me with an introduction, I'd be grateful as I have many questions.

I think you may find that we do not seek the validation of hollywood for our deeds or the deeds of those that came before us. I suggest you change your characters to SEALS because they will be more than willing to tell everyone how great they are.

That and even if hollyweird makes a movie that they claim is about the military, it is full of all kind of negative military comments, like we are supposed to be ashamed of what we done, or some shit

So why is Sci-Fi wanting to make a movie with Rangers in it, last time anyone checked there was nothing make believe about being a Ranger.

Indeed. Rangers have nothing to prove and are very real. No need to tell me how great Rangers are. I know and that is why I'm writing about a small group of them dealing with a fictional issue. My respect is what drives me to find out more info and there will not be any negative military comments. Thanks for the advice. I'm a full contact fighter training stick and knife fighting which is what has lead me to this film.

Science Fiction? Rangers have nothing in common with Space Marines or Starship Troopers. Bad idea all together.

6 Rangers are dealing with an issue? About the only thing that gets that many together in one place, is if someone's wife is going around and they are figuring out how to tactically decapitate the chick.

Whatever you do, you are not going to be able to make it realistic, you are not going to be able to portray them as who they are supposed to represent and the topic more than likely is going to make the boys laugh.

If you want this to be a realistic piece of film, then you best get yourself some verified Rangers to pre-screen and monitor your effort.

Third - if you are addressing someone on this site who is a veteran in the US Armed Forces, treat them with the respect they are due, as someone who has given of themselves to protect our nation. Even more so if the person is a Ranger - in fact - you will address them as 'Ranger' prior to writing their username, such as 'Ranger Saltbitch' or 'Ranger Bell', etc... New members who show contempt or disrespect for Rangers on this site are quickly banned.

Speaking of Starship Troopers, can’t have a Ranger movie without rangerettes, so make sure there are plenty of gratuitous tit shots

I will double-tap them. Always have your Ranger Buddy check on you. Alright, there you have it. We will QC the chicks and then they can become part of the plot.

Btw, HT and I need corporate credit cards and spending accounts. We will be recruiting from the finer establishments in the AO...

Ranger Horned Toad, thanks for your advice. What is the number in a unit and is that the correct term to use? There are six Rangers having to deal with four scientists and a fubar situation because they were the only qualified team nearest to the situation as they were training in the desert. And yes, one of the sceintists is a hottie. We had originally also had a woman as a Ranger but that's not really realistic is it? We may fictionalize it and still have her onboard as she is an amazing martial artist, the God-daughter of Bruce Lee. If so, she won't be showing her body off though. Only the one scientist.

Hey I think I saw this one, it was called basic with john ravolta, and it had a chick ranger to. If you actually think your going to get help making a movie with a female Ranger, I just don’t know what to say to that.

The above was not advice it is the rules of the site.

Now that you have posted an intro, I would move your question down to this place

So how much do we get paid for being a technical advisor, because so far sounds like your questions could be answered by doing a little reading

Ranger Kilted Heathen, I got it and my best to you. George Orwell once said that we sleep peaceably in our beds at night only because there are those such as yourself who stand ready to do violence on our behalf. I have only respect for such.
