RIP APFT
RIP APFT
Hey everybody
Im taking my pt test in the morning and so far its been good. The DFAC at RIP is better than a Red Lobster you Rangers are lucky. Im gonna give it all I got tommorow and ill check in again and let you know how things went. Thanks again the for the support and I hope to make you all proud. The woody from the Rangers in action demonstration was at least 17ft long and made me trip and end up in RIP. I said to hell with my RTD and took off running. I got a good group of guys in my class they seem to be pretty squared away. Ill check back in soon.
Sincerely
MAB78

I've heard it through a good source that MAB failed his PFT...More to follow 'cause I won't let him slink away. Word of advice to all DEPs that may read this...
Nothing should deter you from your goal. If you fail, get back up and get in the fight. DON'T BE A FUCKING QUITTER!

I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can fail the fucking PT at RIP, unless they've thrown an attitude and get the dreaded 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 pushup count.
I was a fat fuck when I got to Basic and after all the PT in Basic, AIT and Airborne, the PT test was the least of my worries. Shit, even RIP wasn't as scary as I had been hyped up to believe. Arrival at Batt was a different story, but I was the shut up, watch and listen type, so life wasn't too miserable even then.
Remember one thing kiddies, they can't kill you. Or can they?
My 2 cents worth-
If you fail the PT test in RIP you are either a smarmy dickhead, a quitter, or both.
Beat the shit out of your body for a few years, then you get plenty o' slack for less than stellar PT scores.

The "selection" process for Regiment is an ever evolving process. When I went through RIP most of what you had to do was holler, sweat alot and not be afraid to take charge. Currently there are quite a few more quantifiable and tested standards. Successful completion of RIP doesn't happen as often we'd like to think.RangerX wrote:I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can fail the fucking PT at RIP, unless they've thrown an attitude and get the dreaded 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 pushup count.

Shit, it aint changed much, if at all!!Tenn-RGR wrote:And it doesnt stop after RIP, selection is a daily process once you graduate RIP. Your feet will be held to the fire and you will be held accountable for everything you do or fail to do until the day you PCS, ETS, or get RFS'd regardless of rank. You will rarely if ever hear the words "good job", it is usually "what have you done lately". So just a word of advice for the DEP's or anyone else wanting to one day join the Regiment; Do not think you have finished anything when/if you graduate RIP, this is only the beginning and it is NEVER easy.Silverback wrote:The "selection" process for Regiment is an ever evolving process. Failed APFT
Hey Everybody
Yes its true I did fail my APFT test and I cannot hold my head up. After all the help you guys gave me and I blew it on my PT test . I failed myself and I failed my mentor, thanks for everything you did for me and im sorry if I wasted your time. Im not gonna try and make any excuses and hope you dont think im quitter cause im not. If you need me ill be pushing in a dark corner somewhere in Alaska or Bragg and thanks again for all the help and support ill never forget it. And to all the DEPS who read this learn from my mistakes, hopefully you wont end up on med hold but if you do dont go unless you are ready and when you are at Airborne PT on your own because it will soften you up.
Sincerely
MAB78

What happened? Which part... tell us and the other DEPS more. Could you have prepared differently, what would you do to NOT fail.

Be a respectful pest, don't go away until your grit and determination nets you the endstate you desire.
Shit happens and obstacles present themselves, we are measured not by our ability and natural talent but our ability to adapt, improvise, and overcome the areas in which we are weak turning that weakness into a strength.
Drive on but don't fuck yourself up trying to over PT.
You know how to find me if you need anything.
