Hi, I am Jon a Brit married to a US citizen, I am 30 years old and have BA and MA degrees. I am going through the process of getting permanant resident status. As soon as I have it (in the next month now) I intend to join either the Army or Marines, I am physically fit and have an atheletic background, I am looking for a way to serve my new home country and want to be challenged physically and mentally.
I started working with a recruiter today who has told me I should be able to get an option 40 contract, I hope this is true as I have heard elsewhere that as a resident alien I cannot get the necessary secret clearance.

You need to be using the search button alot, further get with Kilted Heathen as HIS TIME permits and with SFC Hit it as HIS TIME permits. One or the other should be able to assist you AFTER you have totally exhausted the search feature, which should take a week or three...

Thanks for the welcomes, and thank you O'Doherty for leading me to the advice given to you by Ranger Kilted Heathen on the topic, it is pure gold! It is a complex situation, but it looks as if i can have a shot if i cut it with an airborne contract and volunteer at school there, i couldnt ask for more than that... now i just need to get the ball rolling.
